RCMP investigating possibly drunk driver in fatal Bowser crash

BOWSER — Police are investigating if drunk driving was the cause of a fatal crash in Bowser which killed a motorcyclist.

A 67-year-old man was hit and killed in the intersection of Highway 19A and Marview Dr. in Bowser on April 27 around 6:15 p.m.

RCMP Cpl. Mike Halskov said the motorcyclist was hit by a northbound car turning left off the highway.

The driver is now being investigated for impaired driving causing death.

Halskov said it’s a “difficult” case for Central Vancouver Island Traffic Services to handle.
