NANAIMO — Honouring people injured or who didn't make it home at all while working will be recognized during a ceremony in downtown Nanaimo.

A local Day of Mourning BC ceremony takes place Sunday, April 28 at Pioneer Waterfront Plaza on Front St. at 12 p.m.

Hybrid and electric vehicles in demand as gas prices soar

NANAIMO — Motorists fed up with soaring fuel prices are increasingly turning to hybrid and electric vehicles to ease pain at the pumps.

Nanaimo Toyota product advisor Paul DeBron said a vast majority of his recent sales have been plug-in hybrid vehicles.

NANAIMO — The sky is not falling more than one year after the popular non-profit Nanaimo Recycling Exchange (NRE) shut its doors.
